ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Tuesday that the government is about to carve out a splinter group within the party for its political interests.
"First a patriot was formed through our people, now they are attempting to make a patriot-2," Kaira said in a brief talk with journalists. "The script has been written."
The PPP leader said that the government is concocting reasons behind the meeting but they should know that pulling strings from behind won't benefit anyone.
The PPP leader said that minister Fawad Chaudhry's statement which called for the dismissal of Sindh government, means that Sindh Governor is in contact with the members - action should be taken against him.
As many as 15 members of the Punjab Assembly (MPAs) and five of the National Assembly (MNAs) had a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan at his Bani Gala residence.
According to sources, those present in the meeting with Khan included Maulana Mohammad Ghayasuddin, Shoaib Awaisi, Chaudhry Ashraf Ansari, Faisal Khan Niazi, Ghulam Qasim Hanjra, Muhammad Arshad, Azhar Chandia, Ghazanfar Langah, Mian Jalil Ahmad Sharaqpuri, and Nishat Ahmad Khan Daha.
Sources present in the meeting said the PML-N lawmakers expressed their confidence in the policies of Khan and Buzdar.
On the other hand, Ansari, who in the 2018 general election won independently, also claimed that a big group of PML-N's leaders from Sindh would also meet the premier.
