KARACHI: A man who killed his 16-year-old wife was arrested from the metropolis' Orangi Town Sunday, police said, adding that the deceased woman's younger brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who, too, were involved in the murder, were arrested.
According to police, the killing in Orangi Town's Iqbal Market area followed a domestic dispute between the couple. An attempt to paint the murder as suicide was foiled, they said.
Police said the arrestees — identified as Taimur (husband), Shehzad (younger brother-in-law), and Noreen (sister-in-law) — were being questioned. During the investigation, the suspects confessed to killing 16-year-old Iqra following a domestic dispute.
However, further details and facts can be ascertained once the post-mortem is completed, police added.
Late 16-year-old Iqra Batool was found dead, hanging from the ceiling fan, on Thursday, before police arrived to recover the body.
