Missing Multan woman's parents allege in-laws either sold or killed daughter

MULTAN: A missing woman's parents on Monday alleged that her in-laws had either sold or killed their daughter and staged a protest in front of the local press club in this regard.
The parents of Zainab said they had married their daughter off to a man named Akbar Ali on December 17, 2016. Domestic abuse against the now-missing woman had become common at her in-laws' house, they added.
Her parents further noted that Zainab was forbidden by her in-laws to meet them or even call to talk to them. They have not had any sort of contact with their daughter since June 24, 2018, they mentioned.
The woman's parents stated that her in-laws had registered a first information report (FIR) at the Shah Shams police station on June 25, 2018. They said Zainab's in-laws had claimed in the case that a rickshaw driver had kidnapped her.
They termed the in-laws' claim in the FIR to be "a complete lie", alleged that in-laws had either sold or killed her, and demanded the police investigate the matter. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar should take notice of this issue, they appealed.
